New funding is available for e-assessment

Joint funding from the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) and the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) is available for two e-assessment projects as described below:

Glossary of Terms of e-Assessment

Funds of up to £30,000 (including VAT and expenses) are available for a study to review the terminology used across the field of e-assessment, including formative and summative assessment and diagnostic testing, and to create a common reference for use by post-16 and higher education communities, but which is also applicable to the 4-19 sector.

The deadline for the submission of bids for this work is 1.00 pm on Friday 15 April 2005. The project should commence as soon as possible after 16 May 2005.

Case Studies of Effective and Innovative Practice in e-Assessment

Funds of up to £60,000 (including VAT and expenses) are available for the development of case studies of effective and innovative practice in e-assessment in the 4-19, post-16 and HE sectors. The case studies will identify the challenges and benefits of e-assessment, together with the institutional, operational and pedagogic enablers and barriers to effective use of ICT in assessment.

The deadline for the submission of bids for this work is 1.00 pm on Friday 22 April 2005. The project should commence as soon as possible after 23 May 2005.
