An update of the activities of the e-Learning and Pedagogy strand.

In brief:
- Design for Learning: A circular has been issued for up to six projects to implement and evaluate tools and systems that support design for learning.
- Evaluation of LAMS: Access to the LAMS server has been extended to the end of August 2006.
- An evaluation of the use of VLEs, mind-mapping, whiteboard and word template tools for designing learning activities is currently underway and will report in February 2006.
- A formal evaluation of the Effective Practice with e-Learning Guide will be published in February 2006.
- Learner Experiences of e-Learning:Intial learner interviews have taken place for this study. The final report will be published in May.
- A second learner study project led by Grainne Connole and Maarten de Laart in association with the HEA Subject Centres will investigate learners' experiences of e-learning in subject specific contexts.
- The next Pedagogy Experts group will be held on the 22nd February at the Aston Business School in Birmingham. The meeting will focus on the Learning Experience of e-Learning studies.
- Innovating e-Learning 2006: Transforming Learning Experiences. This online conference will be held on 27-31 March 2006.
- Large Scale Implementation of Innovative Technologies: Three projects have been shortlisted and will been finalised in February.
- Designing Spaces for Effective Learning: A publication containing examples of innovative learning space designs and guidelines for senior manager will be launched at the JISC Conference on 14 March 2006.
