Resources that relate to the Service based LEarning Design toolkit project.

An overview of the SLeD Project An overview of the SLeD Project
This project focused on developing tools to handle learning material that has been described using IMS Learning Design. Learning Design has been recognised as having a potentially vital part in the overall architecture of learning systems but there are limited tools that handle the complex format needed. SLeD has developed two tools.
SLeD project on the ELF web site SLeD project on the ELF web site
This page contains information on how the project fits into the e-Learning Framework (ELF) as well as access to the outputs of the project including software and documentation.

CETIS Educational Content Special Interest Group CETIS Educational Content Special Interest Group
The aim of this group is to track, evaluate and support the UK FE/HE sector's uptake and implementation of the educational content interoperability standards. They focus primarily on IMS:Content Packaging, Learning Design and Simple Sequencing.

Presentation in the Learning Design parallel session by the SLeD project for the JISC/CETIS conference held in Oxford in November 2004.
A Review of Learning Design A Review of Learning Design
A Review of Learning Design:Concept, Specifications and Tools (May 2004) by Sandy Britain. This review introduces the concept of learning design and why it offers 'new possibilities for increasing the quality and variety of teaching and learning'. There is also an evaluation of the various learning design tools available as of May 2004. Some of these tools have been substantially developed since this report was written. This link will download the reprt from the JISC web site.

An edited version of the SLeD project completion report for JISC.
CETIS Pedagogy Forum CETIS Pedagogy Forum
This CETIS group aims to provide a forum to enable the UK FE and HE communities to examine and discuss the pedagogica implication of interoperability standards and identify requirements that can be input into the specification process.
The SLeD project: Investigating Learning Design and Services The SLeD project: Investigating Learning Design and Services
Martin Weller from the Open University discusses the reusability rationale behind the SLeD (Learning Design integration software toolkit) project and the challenges that arise from integrating IMS Learning Design with a service oriented approach.
UNFOLD Project UNFOLD Project
This European project is supporting the adoption of open e-Learning standards for multiple learners and flexible pedagogies, and provides a space for people to participate in the implementation and adoption of the IMS-LD Specification.
