e-Learning and Pedagogy

Through the e-Learning and Pedagogy strand of this programme, JISC aims to ensure that e-learning as practised in UK post-16 sector should be pedagogically sound, learner-focused and accessible.

The aims of this strand are to:
  • scope existing learning theories, frameworks and models
  • explore how an emerging body of established practice in e-learning could be mapped against theoretical perspectives
  • promote the application and development of e-learning tools and standards to support effective practice

The work undertaken within the strand is agreed and monitored by a Steering Group composed of members of the JISC Learning and Teaching committee and including observers from several key partner agencies.

To oversee the direction and relevance of the strand for the communities it serves, a working group of experts has been established to support the ongoing collation, synthesis and review of outcomes and to contribute to forward planning. Representatives on this group include practitioners using e-learning in further, higher and adult and community learning provision, members of partner agencies and project teams.

Outcomes of this strand can be found at www.jisc.ac.uk/elp_outcomes.html or you can keep up to date with developments by receiving a quarterly news update by email by subscribing to the EPED-INFO mailing list at www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/EPED-INFO.html
