Reporting on the e-Learning Programme.

The e-Learning Focus site was established in 2004 to provide a route into the e-Learning Programme for the wider community. From 2004-2007 it reported on its results as they become available, and provide commentary, news and articles to support the work of the projects.

Since 2007 all JISC CETIS staff have been reporting on the programme via the JISC CETIS site

The core information on the Programme, including calls and project information may be found on the mainJISC e-Learning Programme site.

The Editors of this site are Sarah Holyfield and Christina Smart, who work closely with David Sherlock the Web Support Officer, to provide support for the JISC eLearning Programme.

This team is based in JISC CETIS, at the University of Bolton.

Sustaining curriculum change
Unlike the political turmoil at Westminster there was an atmosphere of consensus at the Curriculum Delivery Programme meeting in Birmingham last week. The consensus emerging was around how best to sustain and embed project outputs after funding has ended. Here are my reflections from the day.

JISC Learning and Teaching Innovation Grants: funding bright ideas
Two years ago the JISC e-learning team launched the Learning and Teaching Innovation Grants Programme to encourage innovative approaches to learning and teaching for projects that didn't easily fit into its current development areas. Now in its fifth round we asked Heather Williamson, the current manager of this programme, about some of the projects funded so far and what the JISC has learned about funding the "bright ideas" that people have.

Unleashing Enterprise Architectures report
In August TechWatch published their report on the recent JISC Enterprise Architectures pilot projects. "Unleashing EA:Institutional Architectures and the value of joined up thinking" offers a comprehensive overview of the successes and challenges faced by the projects and discusses the applicability of the approach to Higher Education.

New Directors of JISC CETIS
JISC CETIS announces the appointment of Adam Cooper and Paul Hollins as the new Directors of the Service. As deputy directors Adam and Paul have a built up wealth of experience working with colleagues in JISC, and international standards bodies such as IMS and the ESCS Information Standards Board.

Author of the Demos report, The Edgeless University, Peter Bradwell opened the second theme of Innovating e-Learning 2009 with a warning note for higher education.
